A long time ago in a fitness galaxy far, far away ( actually, a conference room on the 11th floor of the St. Luke's Medical Tower) , I was happily enjoying my routine of step aerobics class at lunch time twice a week. Then one day, in walked Helen Terry who proceeded to remove her shoes and announce that for the next hour Every Body would be experiencing Nia and the Joy of movement. And I did!
Despite that early introduction to NiA, life got in the way of my fitness journey, and it wasn't until NiaMoves opened that I was able to reconnect with the NiA community. In 2009, I made the commitment to a deeper practice and completed my White Belt, Green Belt, and 5 Stages. NiA has become a creative outlet for me and has been my sanity though tough times. I love to dance, I love to laugh, and I love to share the Joy with my class. Join Amy's Nia for Beginners class on Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.
